DPF Faults on 2.8 Litre Diesels
Hilux, Prado and Fortuner models with the 2.8 litre diesel can struggle to complete particulate filter regenerations when they mostly do short local trips. Symptoms include a DPF warning, white smoke, limp mode and rising fuel use. We check soot load, sensor readings and injector health first, because cleaning a filter without fixing the cause means it comes back.
CVT Judder and Flare
Corolla, C-HR and RAV4 models with a CVT can develop judder from a standstill, a flare under load or a whine as kilometres climb. Correct fluid, a proper adaptation reset and an early diagnosis usually cost far less than waiting for it to get worse.
Hybrid Battery and Cooling Issues
Hybrid batteries rely on a small cooling fan that draws air from the cabin. When its filter clogs with dust or pet hair, the battery runs hot and degrades faster. Why does my Hilux keep showing a DPF warning?
The most common cause is short trips that never let the engine get hot enough to complete a regeneration. Faulty pressure sensors, injector problems and incorrect oil can cause the same warning. We diagnose the cause first, then clean or repair the filter so the warning does not return a few thousand kilometres later.
